Generous and breathable<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nA lightweight, bulky 100% Icelandic yarn, made exclusively from two loosely woven strands of virgin wool, delicately twisted together. It is spun from the undercoat and guard hair of Icelandic sheep, making it naturally water-resistant and extremely durable. Ideal for making warm, breathable garments for the colder months, both lightweight and wonderfully cozy. Barber is the thickest traditional Lopi.
\nThis characterful wool, with its rustic texture and dry feel, is easy to work with. It is ideal for crochet and knitting, especially jacquard. Its slightly \"grippy\" texture makes it an excellent choice for jacquard knitting because the stitches cling well to each other, facilitating the holding of the threads and creating a dense and cohesive fabric. It is the yarn of choice for knitting the famous Lopapeysa, the traditional Icelandic sweater with a circular yoke. Its breathable qualities allow for fairly thick pieces, very comfortable to wear for hiking and outdoor activities. Very warm, they are nevertheless lightweight, enough to get you started on making a coat! Beyond sweaters and cardigans, this yarn can be used to make a multitude of winter accessories, such as beanies, hats, headbands, scarves, snoods, shawls, mittens, fingerless gloves, and large \"slipper socks\" for lounging by the fire or for the coldest nights. Its bulky texture also makes it ideal for making home decor items, such as rugs, blankets and throws, or beautiful cushions.
\nIt is a versatile and popular choice for a wide variety of knitting and fiber arts projects, especially those requiring warmth and durability. Due to its unique texture and rustic appearance, this yarn is sometimes used in fiber art projects like felting, weaving, and macram\u00e9.
