What is bulky/chunky yarn?
This type of wool is one of the big yarns, thick and voluminous. It is recommended for quickly making small warm accessories such as a cuddly hat, large snood, enormous scarf, mittens, cape, shoulder warmers... or a cozy winter jacket. It is also popular for making decorative accessories for the home such as cushions and throws. Wool to knit with needles of 5.5mm to 8mm or to crochet with hooks of 6.5mm to 9mm. A skein contains approximately 100 to 150m per 100g.
Maintenance tips
To care for naturally dyed fibers:
– Wash and rinse your item carefully by hand, separately, in water at 30°C maximum.
– Use an organic vegetable soap or a mild natural detergent, neutral pH. A few drops of organic baby shampoo without soap will also take care of the wool and the color.
The use of soap or detergent with a pH that is too high, vinegar, baking soda, etc. is to be avoided, as this would permanently affect the color.
– Do not wring. Dry flat (to avoid deforming your work) away from direct sunlight.
We recommend using Eucalan detergent available in our shop, haberdashery section.
